These photographs capture Uganda in March 2012. My primary focus was in remote, rural, war-weary northern Uganda. It is now peaceful after years of war with Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army.

The galleries include documenting U.S. AID and Winrock International's $50 million NUDEIL road, water, school construction projects. NUDEIL works through the Ugandan district governments and focuses on providing paid labor to subsistence farmers.

Another gallery documents a cotton ginnery started by intrepid South African entrepreneur, Bruce Robertson, and supported by The Acumen Fund. With rapid growth in only three years, it is employing some 400 people on 24-hour shifts, and purchasing cotton from some 6,500 small farmers in the north, most of whom languished in government camps, unable to farm, during the war years.
