The OCSL supplies all of its energy needs through geothermal heating and cooling, and photovoltaic power. The center's 4,500-square-foot greenhouse contains a living water filtration system - the Eco Machine(TM) - that uses plants, bacteria, algae, snails, and fungi to recycle Omega's waste-water (5 million gallons annually) into clean water that is used to restore the aquifer.
