In northern Uganda, children play safely in their school yards. The region is peaceful after years of protracted, brutal insurgency by the Lords Liberation Army (LLA). During that period children were routinely abducted from schools and their homes, and forced to become child soldiers in the LLA. Families were forced to live in armed government camps for safety. Today, the resettlement process is ongoing. with ongoing efforts to encourage remaining child soldiers back from jungle camps across the border.
