In northern Uganda, draft animals are in short supply, but will be an increasingly important aid to help farmers till their fields. Most farmers returned to their land in the last three years, after languishing in government camps during the years of terror by Joseph Kony's Lords Resistance Army (LRA). Farmers generally have small plots and need to pool their resources to acquire draft animals. It may be an increasingly important part of the growing cotton industry.
