In the remote region, radio is an important means of connecting with the outside. The couple said they often listen to health messages. After years of brutal insurgency by Joseph Kony's Lords Liberation Army, the region is now peaceful, and recovering. The couple and their children were forced to live for many years during the insurgency in an armed government camp.
